In this study, we report an unusual case of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) in the lateral geniculate body (LGB) presenting a visual field defect. A 39-year-old male presented to the emergency room with sudden headache and visual with a left-sided homonymous hemianopsia. In his past medical history, he was diagnosed with hypertension. At the time of admission, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging showed a small amount of acute ICH at the right LGB. This lesion was treated by a conservative medical treatment. The patient recovered favorably with a residual visual field defect. In a case with sudden development of homonymous hemianopia, it is important to carefully examine the lesion in the vicinity of the LGB. |
